How roommate matching works
Matching is only open to students who sign up with a @uoguelph.ca email and verify it. Use it to organise friends you already have, or to find people you haven't met yet.
Friends or on your own
Already have people? Make a group, say how many more you need and share its invite link. Searching on your own? Take the quiz and you'll be listed for other students and groups to find.
A 10-question lifestyle quiz
Sleep schedule, cleanliness, noise, guests, study habits, smoking and vaping, pets, kitchen use, budget and move-in timing. It takes about two minutes, and you can redo it later.
Ranked by compatibility
Every student and group you browse gets a score from how closely your answers line up. Cleanliness counts most, then sleep, noise and smoking. A student's profile marks each category Match, Close or Differs, so you know what to talk about first.
Invites and requests
Groups can invite you from the feed, and you can ask to join a group with an open spot. If you don't have a group yet, inviting someone starts one with them. Nobody is added until the other side accepts.
Gender preference is a guide
A group can say it's mixed gender OK or same gender only. That tells people who the group hopes to hear from and gives you a filter, but Cribb never asks for your gender or checks it. Each group decides who it accepts.
Who sees your profile
Nobody outside Cribb. You have to be signed in to see groups or profiles, and you appear by first name and last initial. You can hide your profile from matching in Settings at any time.
