The library is packed. Here is where I actually go.

Midterms turn every study spot on campus into a queue. These are the ones downtown I end up at, with the hours so you do not walk over for nothing.

Red Brick Café, 8 Douglas Street. Open seven days: Monday to Saturday 8 to 5, Sunday and holidays 9 to 4. Coffee, food, and they pour craft beer, which matters at 4:30 when the paper is done. There is art on the walls and acoustic music some nights, so it is a morning and early afternoon spot for me, not a late one.

Planet Bean, 2 Wyndham Street North. The downtown one. They roast their own beans a few streets away, and the coffee is the reason people cross town. Busy at lunch, quieter mid afternoon. There is a second Planet Bean at 259 Grange Road if you live in the east end.

The Main Library, 100 Norfolk Street. Free, warm, nobody expects you to buy anything, and the printing and scanning are there when your own printer dies at the worst moment. It is the fallback that never fails.

My rule. Two hours, one drink, then move. The change of room does more for my focus than any app. And walk home along the river if you can; the trail is right there.

If you have a spot I am missing, put it in the comments. I will go.
